9/12/2023 0 Comments Whay are teletext holidays like![]() My husband misheard the final amount (which contained - amazingly- the same numbers in a different combination) and was told he would be placed on hold while he received an email and text quote. But the mail storey to this is, DON'T JUST CHECK THE HOTEL CHECK THE TRAVEL COMPANY.ĪVOID! My husband called to enquire about a deal and after exchanging all the necessary information (name, address, bank details, etc) the operator, who's first language was not english, told my husband the final quote for the holiday. We had a great holiday thanks to the airline and in particular the hotel, the hotel were fantastic. And because i had beem in contact with the hotel direct all the way through this, they gave us a range of extras while with them. The good thing about it all was because the airline changed the flights i got them to compensate me the extra on the hotel cost. I my case it was £70 but it could of been worse, i paid them there and then before they could change the price. You get the call, we've managed to book the same hotel for the new dates (yeah).but its going to cost you extra. Of course that is then followed on with we will get back to you within 24hrs which never happens, so with the departure date looming still no word from teletex even though you ring/live chat every day. What can you do but accept the new flights and hope they can rebook the hotel, if i cancel the flights can i get booked on another flight for the original day and at what cost. I was informed i could cancel the flights and get a full refund but not the hotel, if i accepted the new flights they would try their best to rebook the hotel. Sorry but the airline had changed the flights, not just the times but the days as well. The big thing was about 2/3 weeks before we were about to fly the call came. So much so i didnt speak to teletex but direct to the airline and hotel, and any tweaks i needed they sorted for me. I booked the holiday i wanted at the price i wanted, but after a few months it all went down hill and a very fast pace. Like most people you read the reviews on the hotel and the resort etc, but not the holiday company. I booked with teletex a year ago for a holiday to fuerteventura this last march, and i have been trying to warn people ever since. The whole thing stinks and is plain extortion i can't believe they haven't been brought to task by the authorities yet. This is something i have now found from online reviews they have been practising for many years and appear to be getting away with extortion, i always check reviews of holiday destinations in detail but i have let my guard down not checking teletext.Īll the operatives from teletext holidays are based in an overseas call centre which i have no issues with but why are they all using false British names? Having checked my credit card statement online they have also made another unauthorised debit from my card. Having already agreed a quote and paid in full i refused to pay any more on principal, i was now informed that i must pay the £40.00 extra or the cost of the flights £2687.92 would be 100% non refundable. I immediately made a credit card payment on the phone for the full amount, I was then put on hold for ten minutes only to be greeted by another operative who informed me the room i had booked was now not available so i would have to pay £40.00 on top of my £3398 for an upgrade to another room. ![]() I booked a package holiday with teletext yesterday, whilst on the phone to them i agreed a price and received an email quotation stating agreed amount whilst still on the line.
